The Passion of Art |

Art has been a lifetime passion for Tricia Bass. Her love of the great outdoors and particularly colorful Colorado, has led her to a career as a plein air painter. "I am often so moved by what I see, that I feel a great responsibility to bring that emotion to the viewer", the artist states. Previously a free-lance illustrator, Bass has learned that the essence of feeling and the play of light and color in a scene is what she hopes to catch in a simple, pleasing way.
While always an artist, Tricia is relatively new to the world of oil painting. She began her career as a painter under the guidance and inspiration of the nationally recognized artist Don Sahli. Don`s inspiration and exceptional skills were the catalyst that motivated Bass on the path of an emerging American painter. Always enamored by the French impressionist and post-impressionist Bass has come to greatly admire the artists of the Russian school of painting including the works of Illya Repin, Nicolai Fechin, Fedor Zakhorov and finally, Sahli`s teacher, Sergei Bongart.
"As a landscape painter, the concept of being paid to paint in the great outdoors in magnificent Colorado constantly brings a smile to my face. With oil painting, I feel as if I have discovered a wonderful gift!"
